Abstract (EN)
Modernization, a product of science and intellect, and the modern architecture that emerged due to it have influenced the world over time. In this process, the buildings made by leading modern architects revealed modern concepts. Since modernism entered other countries as a compulsory language, all modern constructions were built within the framework of these concepts. However, these structures were implemented with a hybrid language that was redefined with the articulations gathered from the country's culture, socio-economic conditions, geography, and historical background. This study examines the traditional housing characteristics of Turkey and Iran, which are close to each other in terms of culture, geography, and reveals how they were affected by modernism. Then, by considering the modern examples built in these countries, how and wherewith they differ from the center or their similarities to the center are examined following the principle of formation. The study was carried out according to the parameters covering modern concepts determined by the logistics analysis method. The results, which emerged in line with the analyses made on the Plans and elevations, revealed the spatial and formal similarities and differences of the two countries with the center and determined the common language that emerged due to the cultural similarities.
