Özet (EN)

Moringa oleifera, is sometimes referred to as Tree of Life or Miracle Tree, and it is praised for its potential in medicinal use. Moringa can withstand both severe drought and mild frost conditions and hence widely cultivated across the world. With its high nutritive values, every part of the tree is suitable for either nutritional or commercial purposes. Moringa oleifera grows in the tropical and subtropical regions of the world. It is commonly known as 'drumstick tree' or 'horseradish tree'. It is used as potential antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic and antimicrobial agent. Moringa oleifera seed, a natural coagulant is extensively used in water treatment. The leaves are rich in minerals, vitamins and other essential phytochemicals. Beyond that, pre-human testing seems to have a pleasant anti-diabetic effect. Although the plant is generally considered to be toxic, İt is important to note that this is not always the case. In the light of all this information, it is important to determine the antioxidant activity, antimicrobial activity and DNA protective activity such a potential plant. For this reason, antioxidant, antimicrobial and DNA protective activities of methanol, hexane, dichloromethane and water extracts of Moringa oleifera were studied. As a result of the study, it was determined that moringa with water and methanol extracts had high antioxidant and DNA protective activity. As a result of the antimcrobial activity study, it was determined that the extracts of moringa showed no bacteriocidal effect on Escherichia coli ATCC 25322, Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 700603, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213,MRSA. Key Words: Antimicrobial, DNA Protective, Antioxidant Activity, Moringa oleifera
