Abstract (EN)

Before and after Islam, Hijaz, which includes important centers such as Mecca, Medina and Taif, played a very important role in social, economic, religious and political terms. Over time, applications in these areas have changed. After Islam, the importance of the Qibla of Muslims increased because it contained the Kaaba. As well as Hz. Muhammad, the Prophet, In the times of Abu Bakr and Omar, Medina became the center of the caliphate. But Hz. Ali moved his headquarters from Medina to Kufa. Muâwiyah transferred the capital from Kufa to Damascus. Therefore, differences occurred in Hijaz's position and practices there. Comparing these differences with each other may reveal the changes in Hijaz region more easily. Muâwiyah's Hijaz policy is the main subject of our thesis. we will try to compare the practices of Muâwiyah governors and and their visits by means of social, economic, religious and practical areas in the most important cities of this region, Mecca, Medina and Taif with in the previous periods.
