Muğla had been located in Karia Region in antique ages and it has received for a lot of civilizations. So in this historical process, it carries lived civilizations? various historical and cultural richness.The central county of Muğla city, has been come into prominence when it has been compared to other counts of city with its density of urban fabric and also still lived traditions.Muğla traditional houses, climate, topography, socio-economic factors had been played fundamental roles. Muslim-Turk Houses that constitutes the origin of Muğla House notion, have a large majority in urban fabric. Building tradition has been affected by western impacts of Greek society and also its fundamental impacts can be followed on Muslim-Turk houses.The continuity of Muğla Traditional houses can be investigated also in close settlements to Muğla Central County. Ula and Yeşilyurt settlements display similar physical characteristics with Muğla city center. When traditional houses and house fabric of these two settlements have been compared, each settlement?s different qualifications had been caused on entity of housing and as result of this housing entity significant typical houses had affected the distribution and the density of urban fabric.In Muğla and closed settlements, by giving livability to historical fabrics for the development of conservation policies, the perception of existing fabrics? characteristics is a milestone in the determination of required practices. For that reason, in meanwhile the sustainable policies of Muğla traditional fabric has been developed, creating tendency for common conservation with Muğla and its surrounded settlements should also be provided.
