The level of intergenerational differentiation in attitudes towards conservative family values (The case of Kayseri)

In this thesis study, the attitudes of modernization or preservation towards family values are discussed through the generational difference and the Kayseri example. June December 2022, a quantitative approach was preferred as the method of the research and a face-to-face survey was conducted to 450 participants aged 18 and over in Melikgazi, Kocasinan and Talas districts within the scope of the field study. Exploratory factor analysis was performed on the data obtained in the field study in the SPSS 26 program. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, the responses were found to be distributed into four factors. These factors were named as the importance of family, premarital interview, family values and questioning family values. Four factors explain 69.372% of the total variance. As a result of the test, the "Cronbach Alpha" reliability coefficient was found to be 0.91. According to the results of multiple regression analysis, age, marital status, occupation and monthly income have an effect on the importance of family. Marital status, occupation and monthly income have an effect on premarital interview attitude. Marital status and profession have an effect on family values. On the other hand, marital status has an effect on the attitude of questioning family values.
