Muhammad Bāqr Al-Sadr's approach to knowledge

In this thesis, the issues of epistemology addressed by Muhammad Bāqr al-Sadr in his work called Our Philosophy are examined. The first chapter of this study mentions the background of the epistemological studies of Muslim philosophers lived in the past. The second chapter of the thesis is devoted to al-Sadr's life and his works. In the third chapter of the thesis, the contribution of al-Sadr is analysed by means of examining his criticisms of Empiricism, Rationalism and Positivism regarding the sources of knowledge and his criticisms towards Idealists and Relativists on the value of knowledge, and his proposed developmental relativity approach. In the conclusion part, Sadr's evaluations are scrutinized.
