Abstract (EN)
Muhammed Cemâleddin el-Kâsimî, lived in period of between last half of XIX. century and beginning of XX.century, was a thinker a reformer and a Islamic wiser. His living period was the dissolving and falling period as to not only Syria where he was born in and lived there until end of his life but also in all Islamic world. In spite of unsuitable conditions of his environment, he spent his whole life for learning science and knowledge or teaching what he learnt from his childhood on, and also he developped renewed an matured his scientific personage through sciences that are both classic and modern. Our research is generally constituted as anintroduction and two parts. In introduction part, we gave the general knowledge about Kâsimî. In the first part, we diswssed about we social and cultural conditions of growing period of Kâsimî, Family of Kâsimî, his school life and his works. In the second part concepts of godhood, prophethood and the hereafter were discussed under the title of Kâsimî' s opinions about Kelâm. Kâsimî, at the beginning, depended on Eş'âri Kelâm school, afterwords he assumed over religiours sect and quoted from all religious sects. Kâsimî became one of the most important representative of New Selefi Momevent in Şam. He Spent so much efforts in order to improve and restore free Islamic thoughts via consulting the Quran and The Sunna. As a result, he resisted unconcious imitation. When the works of Kâsimî about Islamic thelogy (Kelâm) are examined, it is clear that he filled with deep admiration to ibn Teymiye. In the same period in Egypt, he was continually in contact with Muhammed Abduh and Reşid Rıza who were the important names of New Selefi Movement and he was affected by their thoughts.
