Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the life of Mohammed Ebu Zahra (1316-1394 / 1898-1974), regarded as one of the distinguished scholars of the Islamic world in the twentieth century, his views on sects and historiography of sects are examined. In this context, we can say that Muhammed Ebu Zehre refers to all sects known in general. But it is possible to say that the way of he is dealing with sects is more like improvisation rather than scientific. The author has written what he believes or thinks more as he wishes. In this respect, it may be difficult to say that there is a certain scientific concern in his works related the History of Sects or he follows a certain method. The only thing the author wishes on behalf of the Islamic world is the Islamic unity. Different sects coming together around different ideas or thoughts can be evaluated as riches in the name of Islam according to him, unless they develop any discourse or action contrary to Islam. In this sense, his greatest wish is unification under the name of Islam, even if some differences in terms of different thoughts and ideas. We can say that Ebu Zehre explained what should be done on behalf of this wish one by one.
