Abstract (EN)
The subject of our study will be evaluated in general terms how there is a relationship between "Reason and Faith" in Muhammad Iqbal. Iqbal's emphasis is on the desperation of the Muslim world, whose mind has been left in the background and surrendered to religious dogmas. According to Iqbal, it is religion and faith that will lead people to salvation, and this belief is the religion of Islam. The religion of Islam, which is kneaded with reason and faith, is the most important thing in a Muslim's life. What Iqbal is trying to create; To make the way of life of the prophets a rationalist way of life for the new generation growing up in the Muslim world. Iqbal boldly expressed his ideas and stated that the Western world was threatened by the imperialist view, which was based on extreme rationality and material value. He criticized Eastern societies for not having a belief supported by reason. He complained about the extreme rationality of the Western world and the fact that Eastern Muslims were more open to dogmas and innovations. However, Muslims must be moralized by the necessity of reason and heart. There is a necessary relationship between the two, Muslims should be aware of this necessary relationship. According to Iqbal, people's minds are filled with superstitions, superstitions and modern Western understanding, and their hearts are surrounded. Iqbal tried to create a society that was committed to its own values and did not follow the footsteps of the West, and expressed this in his poems and writings through the self. Iqbal is trying to give a personality to individuals who have lost themselves in the traditions of the West, who have forgotten their own selves, who are not aware of their existence, if we are going to go down to Islamic countries or private. Iqbal said that the salvation of the Muslim world was possible with a mind-supported understanding of faith. In addition, the relationship between reason and faith, which is the subject of the perception of thought that differs periodically in the historical process, was evaluated. In this period, thinkers who tried to understand the areas of influence of religion through a philosophical inquiry said that there could be nothing independent of reason, that is, reason, which lay the basis of the existence of God or religious inquiry. They stated that it is impossible not to know this as having a solid foundation in faith as an indication of what we believe. In some periods, faith has also been treated as a factor that gives birth to knowledge. While in antiquity and Greeks the mind will come to the fore and gain intensity for a while, in dark periods such as the Middle Ages, a God-centered perception will dominate the period. The relationship of reason and faith will continue to exist in this period, but not according to a rationalist mind, but according to the mind of the religious. Later, in the face of the perception of thought that developed and changed with the Renaissance and Reformation movements, the reign of man, which is a humanist approach instead of the reign of God, will begin to gain meaning. With the Enlightenment and the modern period, rationalist reason gained importance. This period began to be called the salvation of humanity and began to be called the period of those who had the courage to use their minds. With this period, there was a great interest in reason, and a process of rejecting everything that has no counterpart in the outside world, that is, the reality of objectivity, and a process of moving away from faith and belief began.
