ABSTRACTThe Thesis of MasterMuhammed Zâhid el-Kevseri?s Life, His Books and Teological IdeasOsman VERİMDokuz Eylul UniversityInstitute Of Social SciencesDepartment Of Fundamental Islamic SciencesMuhammed Zâhid el-Kevseri is from a family that had immigrated fromKafkasya. He was born in Düzce?s village called Hasan Efendi and whilegrowing up found himself in a scientific and religious environment. Afterfinishing his elementary and junior high school in Düzce, he completed hishigher education in İstanbul. He got private lessons and authorization fromknown scholars of that period. He worked as an aducator in Fatih masque,gave Arabic lessons in Darü?ş-Şafak. He educated a great number of students.Ever since the day he was given formal duty he often encountered Union andCommittee then he had to immigrate to Egypt in 1922. He had done most of hisscientific studies in Egypt. He died in 1951.Kevseri emphasizes the attributes of God especially on the message. It isnot right to use such words as yed (hand), vech (face), being equal whenrefering to God. These have to be explained.Like in other subjects, he defends the point of view of Ehl-i Sünnet in thematter of God?s message and the creation of Kur-an.According to Kevseri, people have chosen certain acts and with thesebehaviours either they gain good deeds org et punishment. God?s eternalknowledge and will is not against to what a human being?s actions would be orwhat the person choses to do.However much the action of individuals are created by God?s power, aslong as a human being choses not to make efforts to participate in those actionsGod would not create them.Key Worlds: 1) Muhammed Zâhid el-Kevserû 2) God 3) Attributes4)Actions of human being 5) Freedom of will
