Özet (EN)

Sufism, which is the most beautiful expression of Islam sent as guidance and mercy to humanity, has tasted the flavor of faith, sincerity, and taqwa (piety) for humanity for generations. It made Muslims become perfect people by making them conscious of the meaning of worshiping as ikhlas consciousness (if they saw Allah- beneficence consciousness). The morality and lifestyle created by Sufism guided Islamic civilization and became one of its founding elements. The murshid, who played important roles in the fields of thought, art, science, culture, architecture, and economics, also contributed to the universal identity of the Islamic civilization. In this study, we discussed the life, scientific studies and Sufistic thoughts of Muhammed Zâhid al-Kevserî, who after completing his education, taught Dersiâmlık in Fatih Madrasah, Arabic in Daru'ş-Şafaka Madrasah and hermeneutics of Quran in Süleymaniye Madrasah, and even one of the great scholars of his time rising to the duty of the attorney. We aim to contribute to a better understanding of Kevserî, one of the late Ottoman scholars who gathered the knowledge (Ilm) and lore (Irfan), and to gain knowledge for new works to be done after us. Kevserî was interested in Sufism as a science, and explained his views on the basic subjects of Sufism, such as dhikr (invocation), occasion, bond (rabıta), saint, master, sufi manners, the spiritual journey (seyrüsülûk), seeking to draw close (tawessul), unity of existence(vahdet-I vücûd), unity of witnesses (vahdet-I şühûd) and wrote books in this field. In addition to being Sufi in terms of the studies he has put forward in this science, Kevserî is also a Sufi in terms of his life and morality. Because Kevserî lived the spiritual atmosphere of the dervish lodge life, took lessons from many sufi masters, and completed the spiritual journey by attending the murshid (mentor).
