Abstract (EN)
Since the invention of printing machine, the media has become an important componant of power througout the world to affect the public. İt would not be a miss conception to claim that the media of modern world is the fourth power along with jurisdiction, legislation and egorcement. The media is quite important to make the people be aware of the things going on around them as well as guide, even some time manipulate them.The newspaper used to be the mainstream media in the Ottoman time. Many newspaper have the publishing policy of keeping the ethnic elements of the state together during the seperation period of the Ottoman. However, it should also be mentioned that there were some newspaper, published in both Ottoman regioms and Europe, doing the opposite. This reflect the fact that the bickering, just like among the states, available for newspapers, too.Mukhbir, published mainly inLondon and partly in İstanbul, supported both state-run policies and opposition arguments at the lates time of the Ottoman Empire. This newspaper, established by well-known Ziya Pahsa, Ali Suavi, and Namik Kemal, should be kept seperated from the other newspaper of its time.This research essentially focuses on the investigation of the Mukhbir Newspapers? approach to the Cretan revolt.Key Words: Mukhbir, Cretan, Ali Suavi, Newspaper.
