Özet (EN)

The study area takes place at the lower-middle portion of linear section, extends from north to south between Sivas, Tuzla, Şarkışla, Kayseri, Yahyalı, Çamardı, Kamışlı, Pozantı, Killik, Mersin and Mediterranean Sea. The vertical discontinuities, which occur while the continent - continent crush in melange emplaced during Upper Cretaceous, has created Ecemiş Fault corridor. Trust faults, normal faults and Ecemiş Fault, which is a strike-slip fault, have caused huge landslides with several billions cubic meters, along 40 kilometers of the study area. The trinity water-discontinuity-clay (WDC), main reason of geotechnical problems, has played a significant role in the formation of these landslides. However, distinct and appreciable fertile lands have been formed by the trinity of WDC. A conventional dam and a motorway project had been located in this fertile land by the decision makers. However, the remedial works for the solution of geotechnical problems were unacceptable. Therefore, in contrast to conventional dam which destroy natural and historical culture, a pressure pipe system had been proposed which has many advantages in terms of timing, environment, safety-security and cost (TESC). More energy can be generated with less cost by using pressure pipe system, besides of saving the environment. Instead of conventional dam project, the recommended project pressure pipe system consists of.S small dams on the tributaries,.S 3 regulators, ?S pipelines,.S power plants. In addition that, the decision makers have been convinced to realign the motorway alignment 30 km west of the Ecemiş corridor. Keywords: Geotechnic, Ecemiş, Water-discontinuity-clay (WDC), TESC, Pressure pipe. II
