Muhyî-i̇ Gülşenî Şehd-i Ebrâr (Language analysis, text, index )

Based on the reliable sources,Muhyi-i Gülşeni is a very well educated poet who lived in XVI. Century,participated in tariqah(religious order) of Gülşeni and made more than 200 writings. One of his poetic Works is Şehdi Ebrar.In this work,he praised Allah and the Prophet and wrote short stories on Hz.Ebubekir, HzOmer, Hz.Osman, Hz.Ali, Hz.Hasan, Hz.Hüseyin and Hz.Ali's grandson Zeynel Abidin and drawn conclusions from these stories. The present study consist of three parts as;languageanalysis,text and index. His work was analyzed in terms orthography,sound,morphology,and vocabulary in the language analysis part.It was found that this study included some different sound and morphological characteristics could be seen in Ottoman Turkish later than 16.century.Some suffixes were presented as both unrounded and rounded in the text. In the index part the words in the work were listed alphabetically and the couplet number of each word is given together with of the meaning and inflection suffix.The origin of the words are determined as 35.5% Arabic,15.8% Persian and 17% Turkish,but as compound words 11.4% Arabic-Turkish, 6 % Persian-Turkish,4.9% Arabic-Persian and 3.6% Arabic-Persian-Turkish.
