Özet (EN)

The determination of serious infections, trauma, hemolytic diseases, and favism, a common disease in Turkey, is related to hemoglobin. Some species of hemoglobin are effective especially in mortality caused by carbon monoxide poisoning. A quick evaluation of total hemoglobin and hemoglobin species is vital, especially in emergency situations. Monitorization of hemoglobin value will increase efficiency and decrease response time in treated deadly diseases. A non-contact device design that measures hemoglobin concentration values, which is important in the diagnosis of various diseases, is proposed in this study. Current hemoglobin measurements require drawing blood invasively, it is a time-consuming and non-continuous blood gas analysis. The determination of hemoglobin values provides to detect oxygen saturation. The oxygen saturation gives information on a patient's tissue oxygenation. The devices that measure and display the parameters such as oxygen saturation and heart rate are called oximeters. Recent studies have focused on improving the measurement of oxygen saturation as well as providing the measurement of hemoglobin types. The accuracy of current oximeters with a hemoglobin measurement capability is being discussed. With this study, the disadvantages of existing commercial oximeters were tried to be overcome by designing a novel non-contact hemoglobin measurements device. The absorption and reduced scattering coefficients, which are critical in hemoglobin measurement were calculated by the frequency domain multiple distance method using optical phantoms, and the designed device was calibrated. Total hemoglobin and three different types of hemoglobin were estimated by applying the regression method to the dataset consisting of the measurements taken with the device, and then the total hemoglobin was estimated by applying deep learning methods. This design allows noninvasive, continuous, and non-contact measurement will be made. Oxygen saturation error caused by hemoglobin species that are scarce in the blood can be resolved by making improvements in design.
