Abstract (EN)

This is a descriptive cross-sectional study that aims to examine the role of dyadic adjustment and partner support in predicting sexual satisfaction in women diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Research data was collected between June and November 2023. The sample of the study consists of 61 women diagnosed with MS between the ages of 18-55 and 87 healthy women in the control group. Data were collected using the "Personal Information Form", "Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale", "Golombok-Rust Sexual Satisfaction Scale", "Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale" and "Partner Support Scale". Jamovi package program was used in statistical analysis. Along with descriptive statistics in the analysis of the data; Student's t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, Pearson correlation analysis and Spearman's correlation analysis were used. In statistical analysis, the significance level was accepted as p = 0.05. In the study, the average age of the MS group was 39.3±7.28; The average age of the control group was found to be 37.9±8.48. It was determined that sexual satisfaction increased as spousal support and dyadic adjustment increased for the participants in the MS and control groups, and as the level of depression increased, sexual satisfaction decreased (p<0.05). In women diagnosed with MS; It was determined that spousal support decreased as age increased, spousal support increased and depression level decreased as education level increased (p<0.05). As a result of the research, it was found that the sexual satisfaction level of women diagnosed with MS increased as their partner support and dyadic adjustment increased.
