H. Lachenmann's Schreiben in the context of musique concrète instrumentale and Kadim for choir and orchestra

This study aims to explain the concept of musique concrète instrumentale introduced by the German composer Helmut Lachenmann and to analyse the composer's Schreiben for large orchestra in line with this concept. Within the scope of this study, firstly Lachenmann's composer personality is discussed in general terms. Afterwards, the concept of musique concrète instrumentale is explained, the innovations brought by the concept to the field of composition are revealed, and the similarities and differences of musique concrète instrumentale aesthetics with other music aesthetics in similar periods are revealed. Finally, Schreiben is analysed in the light of the findings of the previous chapters.
