Risâle-i Usturlâb-i Selîmî by Mustafa İbn Ali el-Muvakkit(1A-46B) input-review-comparison-index-facsimile

In our thesis, the pages 1a- 46b of the book Risâle-i Usturlâb-ı Selîmî by Mustafa b. Ali er-Rûmî el-Muvakkit (d.979 / 1571) one of the best-known astronomy scholars who lived in the 16th century, were examined. A Chapter of this study was transcribed and compared by showing the differences and deficiencies between the two copies. Work was examined in terms of spelling features, phonology and morphology. Our study consists of five chapter that input, review, comparıson, ındex and facsımıle. In introduction the information about category of the work, development process of the astronomy science in the Islamic world and the Ottoman Empire, the clock towers, astrolabe, the title of the work the author, the importance of the work, the sections and the recorded copies of the work. In the review section, the phonology and morphology were evaluated. In text section, the manuscrript's page numbers along with the transcription of the text is provided and a comparison between the two copies was made showing the differences and the deficiencies of the document. This comparison is also shown in footnotes. In index section the words of the document are put in alphabetical order. At the end of the study, facsimile of the two work is given.
