The analysis of Mustafa Lutfî Efendi - Tuhfetü'l-'Asrî fî Menâkıbi'l-Mısrî in the Context of Niyâzî Mısrî menâkıbnâmes

The aim of this study is to reveal the original text of Tuhfetü'l-Asri written by Mustafa Lutfi. In addition, since presenting the text and understanding the text are different matters, this thesis aims to show how Niyâzî Mısrî's life and miracles are explained in other Mısrî menâkıbnâmes Vâkıât (main source of all menâkıbnâmes) and Gülzâr (the one written rigt after Tuhfe); how Niyâzî Mısrî menâkıbnames have been written and changed over time. Since the dervishes are the first addressees of the menâkıbnâmes, the purpose of this comparison is to determine how the life of Niyâzî Mısrî was transferred to his followers through time. For this purpose, the connections of these menâkıbnâmes with each other were revealed throughout the thesis. In addition, it has been interpreted which legends Mustafa Lutfi conveyed and which legends he did not convey, and whether there was any religious or political reason in these preferences. As a result, contrary to what is claimed, Tuhfetü'l Asrî did not "destroy" Vakıât; on the other hand, it was Gülzar-ı Mısrî which made additions to Vâkıât, and it was observed that the portrait of Niyâzî Mısrî which was drawn by Mustafa Lutfî, differed from other menâkıbnames.
