An investigation of child heroes in Mustafa Orakçı's books in terms of character elements

In children's literature, the way heroes are presented and their characteristics have an important place in terms of the child's identification. The aim of this research is to reveal the development styles, open, closed, static and dynamic structures, conflict resolution styles, positive-negative characteristics of the child heroes in Mustafa Orakçıs' works, and how these positive-negative characteristics affect character development. In this context, the study tried to examine the characteristics of the child heroes in Mustafa Orakçıs' books in terms of character elements. In the study designed with document analysis, Orakçı's thirty books in the Levent İz Peşinde book series were examined. The data obtained was first subjected to descriptive analysis and then detailed with content analysis.According to the results of the study, the child heroes in the series were developed mostly with their dialogues and behaviors, and to a lesser extent with the interpretation and physical characteristics of other characters in the series. In addition, it has been determined that most of the child heroes have static characteristics, except for one hero with clear character traits. It has been determined that child heroes generally use constructive conflict resolution styles and often solve problems with effort. In addition, it has been observed that child heroes stand out with their positive characteristics, but sometimes they are also conveyed with their negative characteristics. It has also been concluded that the positive characteristics of child heroes may be positively reflected in character education.
