Abstract (EN)
Ord. Prof. Mustafa Şekip Tunç (1883-1958) is considered as one of the founding names of human philosophy with modern philosophy and psychology approaches in Turkish thought in the Republican period. Philosophical and psychological views, which are based on the process of creating one's self, society and world, have centered all kinds of issues that concern human beings. Since such a thought focuses on human integrity, the role played by women in this integrity is emphasized. In this respect, women are at the core of understanding philosophical and psychological issues. The way in which women take place in this world of thought, the way in which they show their influence in human life, and the way in which they express their place in society have shown their originality in the subject of women. This study aims to examine Mustafa Şekip's woman thought in detail. For this purpose, the subject of women was evaluated in terms of philosophy, psychology, and sociology by trying to show the horizons opened in the field of social sciences. In his writings, Mustafa Şekip focused on the material and spiritual processes that women went through during the modernization period. In addition to being known as a Bergsonian in Turkish intellectual life, it was one of the issues that clarified how women and men should form their gender life through the concept of "Gender Personality", based on the "Libido Principle" of Sigmund Freud, which he made the first translations in Turkey. The importance with this in mind, it has been shown that the role of the woman as a mother cannot be ignored. In addition to this, the effects on the social changes experienced with the participation of women in professional life are stated. As a result, it has been understood how the woman, whom he describes as "Old Turkish Woman" and "New Turkish Woman", adapts to the changing social conditions with a national consciousness. In this study, Mustafa Şekip's woman thought has been tried to be examined with its philosophical, psychological, sociological, ontological and cultural dimensions.
