This study deals with the subject of opposite dualities in Müştak Abbas Main's Amud el-Vamda poetry in order to explore the semantic and aesthetic characteristics in his poetry. Because these characteristics reflect the poet's view of life and existence. This study stands at the phenomenon of contrast in the Amud el-Vamda poems of a contemporary Iraqi poet. This poetry showed the poet's feelings of loneliness and depression. The events that Iraq has witnessed in recent years have left a great impact on Müştak Abbas Main's poetry. That is why his poetry gave an honest expression of his fears about the future, and painted an accurate picture of his dreams of a safe homeland. The importance of the study lies in the search for a new style of modern Arabic poetry, i.e. the Amud el-Vamda style. This style contains original classic and innovative modern styles. Müştak Abbas Main used this style to express his national and humanitarian views. And also in order to portray his emotional feeling and his imaginary world that he built in his mind. The analytical-descriptive approach was used to study Abbas's poems. These poems are full of metaphors and images, and they have great semantic meanings. The study consists of an introduction and three chapters. The introduction provided a definition of the concepts of opposite, dualities (dichotomies) and Amud el-Vamda poetry. The study also presented a summary of the poet's biography, which is full of events and lessons. After that comes three chapters: intellectual, material, and social dualities. Each chapter is divided into three main sections. At the end of the study, the research results and the researcher's recommendations were written. In this study, a number of results were reached, the most important of which are: There are many intellectual dualities in Müştak Abbas Main's poetry. The poet's suffering in alienation from the homeland is shown through these dualities. The poet was always looking for a safe place and time, even in his dreams. The poet used these dichotomies sometimes as a method to express aesthetic inspirations, and at other times as a mask to cover his pains.
