The political, military,economical and other developments have affected the religious and social life of thatperiod deeply. Literature has also been affected greatly from these advances.Muvakkit-zâde Mehmed Pertev hes lived in the second part of the 18th centuryand seen the first ten years of the19th century. He could sufficiently have shown hisliterary power and effect neither in his period nor later. Although he was a good poet, hewas known beter as a student and a friend. Together with his poetry, that hispeculiarities be so emphasized is because the poets having these characters live in theperiod they are needed.Although pertev has had a great divan, there is no scientific study about him andthere is no comparative study of his divan. In this study; information about his life, hisliterary personality and Works has been collected and the analisis of his divan togetherwith ıts criticized text has been done. Even though his poems are powerful with respectto the content, Pertev could not have determined a styleof himself and continued ıt. It ispossible to see the effects of other poet on Pertev. On his poems, the effect of beinglocalized and Nedim?s effect is clearly obvious. His language is pure and fluent. Hispoems having no art doubt are the continuation of our classcal poetry. The poet usingthe aruz sucessical poetry. The poet written with hece measure. Pertev, is a poet havingthe desire of developing our classical poetry.He was born in İstanbul in 1159 (Hicrû) and in 1746 (Miladû). He died in Edirnein 1222 (Hicrû) and in 1807-8 (Milâdû). His grave is in the cite (dergâh) of HasanSezayi.
