Abstract (EN)
The objective of the present study is to discuss and describe the language usage of Muzaffer Izgü in terms of stylistics. For this purpose, the selected Muzaffer İzgü stories were stylistically analyzed by means of a stylistic analysis method that was suggested by John Haynes. Secondly, as a result of the analyses that were made, each story has been evaluated in general in terms of its use in the teaching of Turkish as Foreign Language as a material. In the study, three stories were selected in order to be analyzed stylistically. The said stories, namely Dayak Birincisi, Ayılar da Ağlar, Robinson'un Anıları, criticize three themes which are most commonly discussed in stories of Muzaffer İzgü, which are government bodies, society and politics. The stories were randomly selected as to be in these three themes. The stylistic analysis of each story in the study was performed by Haynes's 11-step critical discourse stylistics methodology. The said analysis method allows the texts being analyzed both grammatically and semantically. As a result of analyses that were made, in order for the foreigners to understand these three stories of İzgü, it has come to the conclusion that only Turkish grammar will not be sufficient, and the learner should also have social and cultural knowledge. Even though the language of İzgü is fluent and simple for native speakers, sentence structures and tenses are compelling for beginners and intermediate learners, and for advanced learners it is an advantage to be able to see several structures together. However, even if they are good stories for everyday use of structures, they will not be suitable to be used in teaching Turkish to foreigners on a semantic scale.
