Abstract (EN)

COMPARISON OF FREQUENCY SENSITIVITY AND SPEECH IN NOISE SCORES BETWEEN INDIVIDUALS WHO HAS MUSIC TRAINING AND NORMALS Speech is the most effective communication tool for human relationships and includes frequency and intensity modulations. The ability of frequency discrimination may be different in every person. It's observed that some skills of individuals who has music trained or who interesting in music has improven. The aim of this study is to investigate if the frequency sensitivity increase by music training and thus what is its effect on speech in noise if it increase. And the other aim of this study is to comparison between musicians who is traditional music educated and classic music educated. 14 classic music educated, 14 traditional music educated totally 28 participant chosen for this study. Pure tone audiometry test for hearing thresholds, frequency modulation difference limen (FMDL) test for perception of smallest difference in frequency and speech in noise (SIN) test for perception of speech in noise tests has been carried out. FMDL thresholds and SIN scores has been compared between individuals music educated and individuals who has not music educated and it's found that individuals music educated ourperformed than normals. Further individuals who has classic music education has outperformed than individuals who has traditional music education about FDML thresholds. It's been found weak corelation between FDML and SIN scores. It's been exposed that music education influence positively to frequency discrimination and speech perception in noise.
