Özet (EN)
This research was conducted to determine the problems experienced by prospective teachers taking voice education courses regarding language use in voice education courses. The research is a descriptive research and was conducted in the general survey model. The study group of the research consisted of 32 students studying at Pamukkale University Music Teaching Program Undergraduate I and Undergraduate II. Information was collected from the study group through interviews. Expert opinions were obtained from 4 lecturers on the interview form and the questions were finalized. In the analysis of the data in this study conducted through a semi-structured interview form, the responses given by the participants constituted a total of 14-page raw data document in Microsoft Word. The data collected in the study was analyzed using the "content analysis" method. According to the results of the research; the majority of the students have problems while performing a piece in Turkish and a foreign language. The main reason they have problems is that they do not know how to pronounce the lyrics of the work. In order to reduce the problems experienced in the pronunciation of works performed in foreign languages, works from languages belonging to the same family can be selected. For example, Spanish, Portuguese or French, which are from the Latin language family, can be added to Italian, which is the most frequently performed foreign language in voice training lessons. In this way, students can better master the sound characteristics of that language group by performing works in languages belonging to the same family instead of languages with different pronunciations. In addition, the majority of the students perform Italian pieces as a foreign language in voice education courses. Considering this situation, an elective Italian course can be added to the curriculum for students taking voice education courses. In addition, the source books of the Turkish lyrics and stories of the vocalized works in foreign languages can be recommended by the relevant instructor.
