Abstract (EN)
Teachers work with students of varying physical and mental characteristics. Students with different deficiencies labeled as students with special needs get specialized tutoring from their teachers in formal education settings. Students with special needs get music lessons in their formal settings too. Music teachers teach these students with their self sufficiency perceptions and aim to foster these students in the field of music. In this goal, it is aimed to develop a measurement scale of self-sufficiency perception (SSPS) as well as exploring these scales in the procedures applied while teaching music to the students having mainstream education. In the development stage of SSPS, studies were conducted with 253 teachers and these questions were applied to 227 teachers. SSPS was prepared in likert scale type and after factorial analysis it is revealed that it has six dimensions. For reaching the findings, frequencies, percentages, Mann-Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis tests are conducted. Findings revealed in the development stage of SSPS revealed that the scale is valid and reliable. According to the results obtained from main study, self sufficiency perceptions of the teachers vary in relation with variables like their higher education faculties, private tutoring activities conducted at homes of learners with special needs, seminars, conferences, projects, certificate programs and courses they have participated having a private music class at school, being a teacher of the school they give courses. The results obtained in the light of these data were analysed in the light of literature review and applications in the field.
