Opinions of music instructors towards utilization levels of pedagogic formation course

Having the opinions of music instructors towards utilizing levels of pedagogical formation courses has been intended in this research.Descriptive method has been used in the research. Study group was formed of 58 Music instructors. Music instructors, who fulfills the requirements of being appointed to music instructor profession as graduates of department of Music Instruction Profession of Gazi School of Education of Gazi University, having received the Joint Program of YÖK (Board of Higher Education) 1997, having graduated between the years of 2002 ? 2006 when program was in effect and serving at the elementary school and middle school levels in the government schools providing general music education requirements were included into the study group.Information was gathered with methods of resource screening and survey. Frequencies and percentages of surveys have been calculated by analyzing.Findings have shown that utilization levels of what have been learned from the courses of Introduction to Teaching Profession, Development and Learning and Counseling are insufficient in the profession. Utilization levels of what have been learned from the courses of Planning and Evaluation in Instruction, Instruction Technologies and Material Development, Class Management, Special Instruction Methods I ? II and Practice of Teaching Profession on the other hand are sufficient.Utilization levels of what have been learned from the school organization and management, group activities, school ? family cooperation, courses concerning with main and side branches and school and recognizing its issues from activities of School Experience I are insufficient in the profession. Utilization levels of what have been learned from Directions and explanations, evaluating student studies, group studies, class organization, preparation and usage of study sheets and activities of planning the lesson from the School Experience II activities are insufficient in the profession.In light of these findings, conduction more detailed researches and studies concerning with course and internship activities indicated as having insufficient utilization levels have been suggested.
