Abstract (EN)
Eighty patients between the ages of 18-65 who were diagnosed with myofascial pain syndrome and had active trigger points in the masseter muscle were included in this study. 80 patients diagnosed with MAS, after clinical examination, patient forms were examined and filled, patient groups were treated with occlusal splint treatment (n:20), Nd:YAG laser (n:20), diode laser (n:20), botulinum toxin (n:20). were determined randomly. To provide standardization in the groups, the severity of pain in the masseter muscle was evaluated with VAS score on the day of treatment start and 1 month after treatment. The patients were informed that the VAS (0-10 cm;) indicated 0 no pain, 10 very severe pain). Threshold measurements were made with the algometer on the trigger point. Measurements were made from the same point 3 times and the value was recorded by taking the average of them. Intramuscular oxygen saturation measurements were made using Arges Cerebro near infrared spectroscopy (YKAS) and photo detector. The light sent by the detector, which is 3 cm from the light source, was scanned in a banana-shaped section of approximately 1.5 cm in the transverse and deep tissue. Measurements were taken from the most sensitive point of the right or left masseter muscle, which was at rest for 20 seconds. The results of this study, most of 80 patients included in the study, an increase in the algometer value and fnırs measurements and a decrease in the VAS scores were observed compared to the pre-treatment.
