Abstract (EN)
The words related to the naming of plants, which have an important place for environmental balance in our daily life, have a large place in the vocabulary of Turkish. In addition to Turkish plant names, there are also plant nomenclature in Turkish as a result of interlingual interactions that have continued since history. In this study, plant names in the Nakhchivan dialect were examined in terms of lexicology. First of all, the plant names were scanned from the lexicography sources of the Nakhchivan dialect and the plant names identified were grouped according to the classification of botanical science and given in alphabetical order. The plant names discussed in the study were scanned from historical Turkish written languages, and differences and similarities were tried to be revealed by diachronic comparison method. Simultaneously, only the Turkish equivalents of 266 plant names in the Nakhchivan dialect were discussed. In the study, consistent and acceptable explanations based on etymological sources have been tried to be made regarding the origins of plant names. It is thought that researchers and those who are interested in the subject will benefit from the study, which emerged as a result of determining and examining the vocabulary of plant names in the Nakhchivan dialect.
