Abstract (EN)
Kevlar fabric is frequently used in ballistic studies. Jute, on the other hand, is a plant-based and low-cost fabric. In this study, it is aimed to produce more economical ballistic vests by using Kevlar fabric and jute fabric together. Nano graphene is preferred in composites because of its strength-enhancing effect. Nanographene was also used as an additive to the resin. In this study, impact and ballistic behavior of jute fabrics, Kevlar fabrics and jute+kevler fabrics were investigated by using 0.2% graphene additive. Composite materials were prepared by vacuum infusion method in accordance with the test as 20 layers for ballistic testing and 12 layers for impact tests. Before the impact and ballistic tests, the tensile and shear tests were performed on the same composite materials and their behavior was examined. MGS Lamination LR160 Resin and 25% HGS LH160 hardener by weight of the resin were used in the jute, kevlar and jute+kevlar composite samples prepared for the tests. 0% and 0.2% by weight of the resin and hardener nano graphene was used.
