Abstract (EN)

Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) is a kind of composite which shows flexible behavior thanks to the fibers it contains. In this study, strength properties of ECC containing nano material exposed to double durability effect were examined. The maximum grain diameter (d max) of aggregate in preparation of samples was selected as 2 mm. Class F fly ash in accordance with ASTM C 618 standard, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as fiber, nano silica (NS) as nano material and carbon nano tube (CNT) was used in this thesis. 50x50x50 mm cube samples for compressive strength tests and 50x75x360 mm prismatic samples for flexural strength tests was prepared. Samples were kept in cure for 7, 28 and 90 days. The cured samples were divided into two groups. The first group of samples was soaked to sulphated solution for four days. The second group of samples was soaked to acidic solution for four days. Both groups of samples were subjected to freeze-thaw testing. Later, the compressive strength and flexural strength of samples subjected to double durability effects were carried out. The results were found that compressive strength and flexural strength of samples containing nano silica were become higher that other samples.
