Abstract (EN)

In this study, the changes in mechanical properties by adding nano materials into the polymer matrix were examined. Polyester resin was used as matrix material. Nano-sized TiO2, SiO2, ZrO2, Al2O3 and single-walled carbon nanotube additives were used as reinforcement materials. These additives were added to the polyester resin matrix at a rate of 2% by weight. After the samples were mixed with mechanical and ultrasonic mixers, they were poured into silicone molds prepared in accordance with the test standards. Glass reinforced polyester pipe was produced using nano-sized SiO2 and single-walled carbon nanotube additives. Mechanical tests were applied to the produced samples and pipes. Tests applied to the samples: Barcol hardness measurement, tensile test and three-point bending test. Tests applied to pipes: Barcol hardness measurement, axial tensile test, hoop tensile test, rigidity test, wear test. Axial tensile, hoop tensile and three-point bending tests were performed on a Zwick/Roell Z250 testing machine at room temperature. As a result of these tests, properties such as rigidity, hardness, bending strength, yield strength, elongation amount and elastic modulus of the samples produced were determined.
