Nâsıruddin Ibn Qurqmâs al-Aktamurî (Ö. 882/1478) and his tafsîr Nathr al-Jumân

Ibn Qurqmās al-Aktamurī, who lived in Cairo during the reign of the Mamluks in the 9th century, is a poet-writer and mufessir who had worked in many sciences. There is no working in Turkish about this müfessir and his works but there are some brief information about the works of mufessir and his works on the tabakât papers. In several libraries in Istanbul, there are some of copies of his works, especially about Badiʻ and Asmā al-Hüsnā and about his taffsirs. Based on the sources reached, in this thesis it has been focused, information about life, age, teachers, students and works of mufessir was given. The method of saji of 'Nathr al-Jumān al-Muntazam min Fath al-Rahmān' tafsir's written was examined. The tafsir, which is the four volumes, is based on two manuscripts, placed in 587 and 588, in the Beyazıt Library. This work known as a dirayah tafsir, is a summary of his other work which he wrote in twenty volumes, by writing in terms of rivayah and dirâyah, this taffsirs name is "Fath al-Rahmān fī Tafsir al-Qur'an". Some volumes of the Fath al-Rahmān tafsirs are currently missing. There are four volumes in Topkapı and one volume in Dublin all of these volumes had been reached for thesis; in Sofia there are three volumes but only one of them had been reached. The volumes in Wezzan Morocco are unreachable. While the method of the Nathr al-Jumān is examined detailed, it is briefly compared with the method of Fath al-Rahmān in relation to each topic. There are also ishārī explanations in both tafsirs of the mufessir. However, these kinds of taffsirs are found in Nathr al-Jumān more than Fathu'r-Rahmān. The majority of such explanations were transferred from Necmeddīn Dāye's "Bahr al-Hakāik" (al-Ta'vīlātü Nacmiyye) without mentioning the source. Mufassir who is a belagah scholar, in Fath al-Rahmān rarely chose to write his explanations by using saj`i, he wrote Nathr al-Jumān using saj`i from beginning to end. Due to this characteristic of the work, the saj`i in the thesis has been investigated and the application of this to the commentary has been explained with examples. This type of review about the taffsirs written with saj`i is a first.
