The invenstigation of Nazan Bekiroğlu's novels in the context of the education of values

The aim of the study is to examine Nazan Bekiroğlu's novels in the context of values education. The study is a descriptive qualitative study and document analysis technique was used as a data collection technique. In the study, Nazan Bekiroğlu's books named Mücellâ, Lâ: Sonsuzluk Hecesi, Yûsuf ile Züleyha, İsimle Ateş Arasında, Nar Ağacı were examined based on the root value found in the Turkish Language Curriculum (2020). The frequency of root values in the works has been determined and given by creating a different table for each work. Then, the data were reported by interpreting with sample sentences quoted from the books. According to the results obtained in the study, it was determined that the values of respect, love and patriotism were the most prominent root values in her work called Nar Ağacı. In addition, the values of responsibility, honesty, helpfulness, patience and justice have come to the fore in different works. By the same token, it has been determined that the frequency of passage of self-control and friendship values is low in the works. When the works are considered in terms of teaching values; respect, love and responsibility in İsimle Ateş Arasında; love, honesty, self-control in Lâ: Sonsuzluk Hecesi; patience, love, responsibility in Yûsuf ile Züleyha; love and benevolence in Mücella; it has been determined that it is in the quality that can be used in teaching values.
