ABSTRACTTHE SEMANTIC OF NECATÃ?S GAZELSM.A. Thesis, Department of Turkish Language and LiteratureSupervisor: Prof. Dr. Muhsin MACİTJune 2005, 160 pages15th century poet Necatû followed a different path from Ahmed Paşa and Şeyhû bymaking use of Turkish words semantic. Necatû who began writry poems in a centurywhen Turkish started to borrow words from other languages, Necatû has not beenunder the influence of this movement. He proved that poems could he writte inTurkish words as well. The semantic of Necatû?s poems are more indigenous andintimute than that of other poets. The connection between signifer and singified isguite visible.Key words: Necatû, signifer, signified, semantic.
