Abstract (EN)

Pollutant emissions effect becomes a great problem on health and environment in progress of time. Humankind activities are responsible for increase in greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere over the last 150 years. Transportation sector substantially has a place in formation of the greenhouse gasses. The European Commission has been actively involved in development of the World-wide harmonized Light duty Test Cycle (WLTC) and corresponding Test Procedure (WLTP) and started to introduce them in the European type approval (TA) procedure. After significant efforts, namely WLTP new test procedure was designed to check fuel consumption and CO2 emission was issued by UNECE-WP29 as GTR15. This test procedure, which is more representative real driving conditions, is valid from 2017 September and will be replaced entirely NEDC driving cycle by year of 2020. The aim of this study is to evaluate fuel consumption, CO2 and NO_x performances by using different driving cycles which is referred to as WLTP and NEDC. It was analysed in order to understand with values comparable differences between WLTP, which has been mandatory regarding CO2 emission and fuel consumption and NEDC. However, in order to see beneficial effect of "Cut-off", "Stop\&Start" and Regenerative Braking technologies which are adapted in system, are evaluated. Both cars have same power-train, also have 5 gears manual transmission 1.3L naturally aspirated diesel engine, but different chassis characteristics, that give rise to different coast down coefficient and road loads. These two vehicles were mathematically modelled with MATLAB programme for both NEDC and WLTC cycles. The results show that the influences of each technology over CO2, NO_x emissions and fuel consumption are different between NEDC and WLTP, owing to different characteristics of each cycle. For instance, the effect of start-stop over CO2, NO_x emissions and fuel consumption values are larger in NEDC, due to longer idling periods compared to WLTP.
