Abstract (EN)
The field of communication is renewed and developed as technology develops, and the social structure can adapt to these transformations much faster with the convenience provided by new communication technologies. Therefore, with new communication technologies, medium called new media have spread to every aspect of our lives. New media conceptually includes all mass media and social network connections. At home, on the street, at work or anywhere imaginable; communication can be provided by technological tools such as phones, televisions, tablets, etc. Undoubtedly, it does not seem possible to remain indifferent to this process in social terms. In other words, a person is included in the new media in any way. However, these mass media, which provide unlimited information opportunities to its users, also pave the way for the corruption, loss or corruption of many value judgments. Increase of criminal cases in cyberspace lately confirms this prediction. Undoubtedly, the main reason for this should be sought in the inability or limited control mechanism. Because, with the help of social media tools, limits of personal respect are liquefied or disappear day by day. The transformation of social media into a platform where individuals can express hate, insult and swear to each other as they wish and even cause lynching when carried out collectively appears as a social problem. Measuring the dimensions of these problems and developing solutions to the problem form the basis of this research. Since social media users are mostly young people, this study supported by a survey conducted on university students reached important findings that can be attributed to value.
