Abstract (EN)
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide. Local advanced stage in breast cancer is the most advanced stage that can be cured. Especially thanks to neoadjuvant chemotherapy, the possibility of cure has increased and the chance of breast-conserving surgery has increased. Some cells detected in peripheral blood reflect the immüne status of the patient. These cells influence carcinogenesis, cancer progression and metastasis in the patient. The systemic immüne inflammation index is a value prepared by integrating neutrophil, platelet and lymphocyte counts and can be used to predict prognosis. In the study conducted in breast cancer patients followed in our hospital, the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII= neutrophil X platelet / lymphocyte) was calculated from the complete blood count (CBC) before neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Then, the "cut off" value was calculated by performing the ROC analysis of the SII values, and the relationship between low SII and good prognosis (disease-free survival, pathological complete response and overall survival) indicators was examined. There was a statistically significant correlation between SII and pathological complete response (p<0.001). As a result of Kaplan Meier analysis, a borderline significant relationship was found between SII and 5-year disease-free survival (p=0.053). However, there was a statistically significant correlation between SII and 5-year overall survival (p=0.012). Sİİ can be used to predict the complete response to neoadjuvant therapy in breast cancer. Sİİ provides valuable clues for predicting overall survival. More comprehensive studies are needed to better evaluate the relationship between SSI and disease-free survival.
