A survey on the life of Nermin Bezmen and her novels

The aim of the survey the topic of which is Nermin Bezmen's novels and her being a novelist is to try to display her aspect to art with a holistic view by analysing Nermin Bezmen on whose life and novels no comprehensive study has been done though she has been one of the important figures in Turkish Literature, and also by analysing her novels with a wide perspective. How her novels were based was tried to be determined by being studied of her eleven novels in respect of explanatory, content and narration methods and factors. In the first part of the study comprising two main parts, the summary of her novels were given with the information about Bezmen's life, art and works. In the second part, her novel method was tried to be determined in point of form and content, by her works being analysed. Nermin Bezmen's works being similar to each other in various ways and comprising sucessive series display varied states of mankind with their property of being closely related to the real life and life giving to historical personalities. She is quite careful in terms of both style and content and her novels being prominent in her various works have a consistent wholeness. Romantic, realist and naturalist approaches in addition to her modernist attitude proves that she has not confined herself in any movements. Key words: Nermin Bezmen, Novel, History, Love
