Foça is one of the remaining important habitats of the critically endangered Mediterranean Monk Seal. The human interaction of the species is a crucial dimension through the recovery of the species and its habitats. The interrelations and interactions are investigated in the study by the help of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The thesis focuses on the area usage of the species and its interactions with human activities in order to examine the human pressure on the species. The aim is to present a methodological framework with spatial analysis in order to take conservation measures within integrated coastal zone management (ICZM) plans. Human activities are determined to overlap intensively with the coastal and marine habitats of the species and need to be regulated.
