Abstract (EN)

In recent years the concept of the "Internet of Things" (IoT) has rapidly gained popularity. Despite the existing challenges and problems that need to be overcome especially with the contribution of 5G technology IoT has become an essential part of our daily lives. Essentially products or devices with a range of core functions from simple to complex have transformed into intelligent devices capable of mathematical and logical operations thanks to the addition of various sensors and communication interfaces supported by algorithms. However security and privacy are critical issues that must be carefully addressed in this new technology. Despite numerous studies and academic discussions on security the lack of common hardware, algorithms or interfaces for these smart devices remains a significant obstacle to developing a universally applicable security protocol. As a result as devices equipped with IoT technology become more widespread in homes and workplaces failure to take adequate precautions may lead to an escalation in cyberattacks which have been on the rise globally in recent years. The IoT ecosystem is expected to experience a substantial increase in the number of connected devices. According to published reports recently, by 2025 there could be up to 75 billion connected devices. Currently the average consumer owns approximately four internet-connected devices. As technology continues to advance IoT permeates various aspects of individuals daily lives. However the increasing number of devices also highlights the need to consider service quality within this ecosystem. Interestingly service quality and security tend to negatively impact each other. Therefore an optimization approach is necessary when designing systems that consider both parameters. The goal of this thesis is to examine existing studies related to the implementation of security and service quality in the IoT ecosystem. By analyzing their strengths and weaknesses we aim to identify potential improvements. Ultimately this research aims to shed light on future work and provide a fresh perspective. The methods used for this examination involve creating a scoring system and analyzing algorithms to assist in selecting an optimal security-service quality algorithm for the relevant system.
