Abstract (EN)

The stage space, as the place of presentation of the performing arts, has gone through various stages from the past to the present. Until the modern period, the development, change and difference in question continued through the character and text of the staged show, especially theater. The development of decor solutions that reveal the spirit of the space and the play and aim to ensure change has also changed the understanding of decor. The differentiation and change of the stage elements as a complement to the play has necessitated new and different designs in the objects used in the show. While the developments throughout the ages have been effective in all layers of life, especially in the 20th century, by differentiating the relationship between human beings, who are social beings, and life, the performing arts, especially the performance art on the stage, have emerged. For this reason, the changing space and the increase in the variety of performances on the stage have necessitated the emergence of new searches in stage design. The stage as a performance space for the audience, who gets closer and sometimes involved in the performance of the actor, has been designed in a new and different way. As a performance space, the stage space has been differentiated as new and different spatial designs, open to constant change and transformation. In this context, it is seen that plastic arts, especially painting and sculpture, come into play in the search for form in the performance space, which progresses in parallel with the staging orientations, especially in the positioning of the objects used in the stage decor. In this thesis study, the position of sculpture, which is used as a decor, has been questioned in the stage and decor design, especially in the works of plastic arts. In the works that emerged with the cooperation of interdisciplinary artists with choreographers and dancers in the production of objects that create the atmosphere of the stage; the use of color, light, sound, sculpture on the stage, the continuity, sustainability, compatibility and diversity of stage design were evaluated.
