Abstract (EN)
In our study, a polymeric fluorescence sensor has been developed for Ni (II) ions. For this purpose, after a polymeric membrane was prepared by UV hardening technique, its structural and morphological properties were examined by FTIR and SEM methods. Then, the fluorescence characteristics of the sensor and suitable conditions for the determination of Ni (II) ions were determined. Excitation and emission wavelengths were determined as 374 nm and 423 nm, respectively, and a decrease in fluorescence intensity was observed in the presence of Ni (II) ions. The effects of pH, time and foreign ions on fluorescence intensity required for the determination were also examined in detail, and it was found that the optimum pH and time were pH: 5.0 and 20 seconds, respectively. The linear range of the method we developed is 1.70.10-8 - 3.41.10-7 M (1- 20 ppb) and the detection limit is calculated as 4.81.10-9 M (0.282 ppb). The method has been successfully applied to wastewater and whole blood and tap water samples. Ni (II) ions can be determined selectively and precisely in a very short time with the sensor we have developed in our study. Our study was presented at the 13th International Conference on Smart Materials and Polymer Technology held in Paris between 19-20 February 2020 with the title of "Development of Fluorescence Sensor for Determination of Ni (II) Ions" and received the best poster award.
