Abstract (EN)

In this study, the pollution loads caused by LANDSAT ETM + bands and Niksar Çanakçı Lower Basin (95 km2) land use and distributed pollutant sources were investigated using geographic information systems (GIS) in 2018-2019. The obtained livestock data (number of bovine animals, number of cattle and number of poultry and poultry) and land use data were analyzed to determine nitrogen, phosphorus loads. Niksar Çanakçı Lower Basin is one of the important areas of our country in terms of land and water resources. The aim of this study is to determine the pollutant sources of Niksar Çanakçı Lower Basin from Livestock and Land use within the framework of new ecological modeling approach and to discuss necessary precautions for determined sources of pollutants. For these purposes, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and important ecosystem parameters were utilized. This study showed that GIS technologies are compatible with ecological models and work effectively in watershed-based ecosystem studies. The generated spatial database provides useful information for future studies to evaluate the temporal spatial variation of ecosystem parameters in the field.
