Abstract (EN)
The effect of the mycorrhizal symbiosis to the phytoremediation capabilities of pretreated amylum industry wastewater with Typha latifolia, which is naturally grown in its flora were studied as a pot experiment and submitted as an alternative tertiary treatment. Typha was inoculated with Glamus etinucatum to ensure AMF infection in plant roots. Two different plant groups with three times repetitions were used. After establish of the mycorrhizal symbiosis and the adaptation of the plants to their new media, experimental studies with amylum wastewater were started. The plant groups were separated as inoculated (+M) and non-inoculated (-M) pots. One group of inoculated and non-inoculated pots was irrigated with wastewater and the other group of inoculated and non-inoculated pots irrigated with top water. After a given period, heavy metal accumulations and mycorrhizal infection rates in root and stem/leaf samples were determined. After phenological observations it is determined that the biomass increase of the infected plants were higher than non-infected plants. The dry weight heavy metal analyses showed that the accumulation was higher in the roots than stems/leaves. The order of the heavy metals accumulated in the tissue samples were Fe>Zn>Cu>Cr. The analyze results showed that mycorrhizal symbiosis reduce the heavy metal accumulation for Cr, Cu, Zn, and Fe at a rate of 12%, 52%, 90% and 70% respectively in the roots of infected plants than non-infected plants.
