Investigation of desing bases and construction stages of nissibi bridge

ABSTRACT INVESTIGATION OF DESIGN BASES AND CONSTRUCTION STAGES OF NISSIBI BRIDGE MSc THESIS Hatip YILDIZ DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING INSTITUTE OF NATURAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES UNIVERSITY OF DICLE 2019 In this study, design bases and construction stages of Nissibi cable-stayed bridge, which was constructed on Atatürk reservoir as an important engineering structure, were investigated. Some design procedures were also checked. This study consists of five chapters. In first chapter, the necessity of cable-stayed bridges and Nissibi bridge was mentioned briefly. In second chapter, general information about cable-stayed bridges was given together with historical past of this kind of bridges. The constructed cable-stayed bridges in the past and present were also referred. Moreover, information was given about structural components of cable-stayed bridges. In the third chapter, the reason for the construction of Nissibi cable-stayed bridge on the Diyarbakır-Adıyaman road which connected Siverek and Kahta districts was explained. Information about technical properties and geometry of this bridge was also given in this chapter. In the fourth chapter, design bases, approximations and some computations related the bridge were introduced. Information about the construction stages of this bridge was also given with photos. The fifth chapter contains the evaluation of the conclusions reached at the end of this study.
