In this study, linguictic characteristics of sufi and poet Niyazi Misri, one of the most important personalities of 17th century, has been researched. In his poems, in which both prozody and syllabic meter is used with religion and sufizm content, we can see the plain language consisting linguistic characteristics of both classical literature and minstreal literature. The most favoured and extensive work of the poet is his dewan. This study is based on the review of the text which has been done by comparing 8 copies of his most reliable and present copies. It has been accepted that in 17th century, the early changes in transition to Turkey-Turkish started to appear. It is assumed that some phonetic and morphology characteristics of Turkey-Turkish appeared for the first time in this period. In this study, linguistic characteristics of Niyazi Misri's dewan has been researhced in 4 main titles; Phonology, morphology, Phrases, Types of Words. In conclusion, the literal work has Ancient Ottoman Turkish linguistic characteristics in terms of phonology, phonetic rhymes, derivational and inflectional suffixes; it has been found any changes which are similar to the differences of Ancient Anatolian Turkish and Classical Ottoman Turkish. Potential changes based on Turkey-Turkish that are supposed to appear in this period since 17 th century, couldn't be projected on the text because of classicization of orthography. Key Words: Niyazî-i Mısrî, 17th century, Old Anatolian Turkish, Ottoman Turkish, Turkey Turkish
