The effects of teaching of "item analysis" with a teaching programme based nlp on the academical student success

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of an instructional programme based NLP on the teaching of "Item Analysis" on success of students academically. At this study, the subject of "Item Analysis" on the lesson of Cirriculum and Assesment of Teaching was thought with the new lesson plan based Neuro Linguistic Programming-NLP, which was conducted second year students of second semester of 2006-2007 at Department of Social Sciences, Education Faculty, Firat University. During six weeks of lecture, the aims and principles of NLP, human brain and the ways of learning were discussed. In addition to this, common item statistics, item difficulty and indices of difficulty, test difficulty and the avarege of test were explained. For the duration of this study, pre test and post test model with control group model and experimental method were used. During the experiment, while a new lesson plan based NLP was applied to experimental group, a traditional way was applied to the control group. After the new lesson plan application, ideas of students about the new plan based NLP were taken individually. The outcomes of this study with respect to evaluation of grades of post test showed statistically meaningful differences between control and experimental groups. The evaluation of ideas of individual students showed that they developed new aspect, their motivation affected positively and applied new plan was effective on their learning. Also all the investigation on application of NLP to education had positive results on learning of students. The results of this work showed that the application of this proofed effective new NLP techniques on learning will be very efficient if it is integrated to the plans of especially primary, secondary and university lesson plans.
