Abstract (EN)
In this work, NOAA- 14 AVHRR (Advanced High Resolution Radiometer) visible and near infrared datas for Çukurova Region dated in May, July, September and October in 1997 were used. NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) values were calculated and compared from this data by using PC compatible ERDAS softwere packet programme. In this region, 6 types general cover classes were determined acording to conditions of seasons and geography. The changing of the vegetation index values were examined by processing NDVI values of monthly images in 1997. Key Words: Vegetation Index, Remote Sensing, NOAA- 14 AVHRR Data, Image Working, Classification. II
